AAPL & iTunes

this is a bootleg site and it is insignificant to the commercial music downloading market. this site caters only to those who want to obtain free, illegal music. of course, thats a big market, but you are missing the point of iTunes success if you think a rank site like this will even begin to take market share from Apple. Itunes offers an intriguing proprietary marketing interface, a legitimate nexus, excellent support, and the backing of the most reliable and successful consumer media company in the world. people will pay 0.99 for that any day.
Iagree with poster # 2 — I think Apple still has legs — I’m sure you saw those bullish analyst commnets from BEAR STEARNS today, right?
JMHO that iTunes being proprietary and closed has a liability similar to the fates of past closed and proprietary products. It can be replaced by customers running to a newer and open choice (what ever that turns out to be).
iPods have a built in risk that apple has designed in: short lifespan and no servicabilty option. For how long will folks pony up $300 for a device who’s lifespan is shockingly short. I wonder how may of the first batch of 4Gb iPods are still running and not in some dump?
I believe AAPL must address both issues at some point to stay on top. Otherwise a new comer with replacable batteries and disks and an open music server will run AAPL over with a truck.
JMHO, curt
