ING Direct

ing_direct_1.gifMy watchlist has been pretty dead lately, so here’s something different. ING Direct raised its savings rate for its orange savings account 2 days ago to 3.30% APY. I’ve had their orange savings account with them for about 2 years now, and I’ve never had a problem.

Basically, you transfer money (via their online control panel) between your ING account and your regular checking account. And of course, the money you depost in your orange savings account earns 3.30% APY interest.

The account is FDIC insured up to $100K, with no minimum deposit, and no fees.

Right now, theyre running a $25 bonus for new customers. New ING customers will get a $25 bonus if they are referred by an existing member (me), and if they deposit at least $1 in their account. I’ll admit, I get a $10 bonus for the referral, but customers who sign up w/o a referal link aren’t offered the $25 bonus.

If you’re interested in opening an account, just email me with your full name and email address, and I’ll get an invitation out to you right away.

Am I reading correctly that I can deposit $1 while receiving two bonuses totaling $50?

Sorry I worded it so ambiguously. There is only 1 bonus of $25.

What happens is I send you an invitation. You then click the invitation and setup your account and deposit at least $1. After a few days your account will be completely set up, and they will give you a $25 bonus which you can withdraw if you want.
