Madd Money Blog

A lot of people like to watch Jim Cramer’s show on CNBC. Even though a ton of people say he sucks, it’s good to know his opinion on certain equities because he commands a huge following of investors. For instance, after today’s Cramer pump of MCHX on Mad Money, the stock shot up 18% after hours. Like him or not, Cramer has a huge effect on the market, and it is to your advantage to keep informed.

For those of us who don’t have time to watch his show everyday, there is the Madd Money blog, which tracks all his opinions of stocks. The blog is updated very frequently, and it’s a great resource for investors. Go check it out.

get that spammer off this site…

anyways, good looks on the MM blog and I fully agree with you — cramer can tip the market.

he’ no greenspan, obviously, but people listen to what he has to say.

what i find interesting is that whereas when his show first aired — stocks went up the day after/after-market — nowadays, you’ll often see a lot of selling pressure on a stock right after cramer pitches it (an inverse effect).

my take is that shorts and more aggressive savvy traders have picked up on his show and are betting against JC.

that would make a lot of sense — while i think overall his picks are good, a lot of them are based on trends and short term macro events (hurricanes, one good quarter from a so-so company, etc).

the fundies who know the financials better than he does subsequently jump in and drive it down knowing the stock will run up for 3 weeks or so and then spill its innards.

I can’t say I’ve bothered to track his picks.

The following website allegedly keeps tabs on the booyahs. I mean, stock recommendations.

CNBC/NBC-Universal/General Electric disavows all knowledge of said recommendations and advise you to consult a certified financial planner if you read fine print. NBC-Universal would also like to take this time to sincerely apologize for the “programming” of the NBC network.
