Shorting V

Bold move - shorting V. This thing is like a freight train on crack.

I agree with you that this thing is way too extended to the upside - it should pull back at some point.

Interesting..what is your rationale?

It stopped 2 cents above yesterdays high and started to pull back. I figured the run was done at 77.30. Boy I was wrong. I covered at 77.30 and re shorted it again at the close. I re shorted it because mastercard came off its highs so I think V may follow. This will probably become a botched trade but we`ll see how it plays out.

Think big and go buy some puts

Brett, it’s a gutsy move shorting V. MA and V are wall street darlings. I would say set a very tight stop.

I hope it works out for you bud. I do like how there aren’t a lot of people thinking of shorting V…usually a good sign! As for me, I like a short on oil these days.

Thanks Alex, I hope that it works out as well. It is more of a risky gamble, I am not too confident with shorting Visa but I am doing it anyways.. I like a short on oil as well. I went long DCR at 3.50 thanks to DOUG and I am still short USO. I really wished USO would have hit 100 cause I would have bought a boatload of puts.

OK–Anyone looking at V today??–Was confident the trade was gonna work–of course you can never be 100% sure with the mkts
My target on V is 78 area maybe a bit higher
Btw,No stops used on this trade–never use stops–can’t seem to put them in the right place anyway lol

I did get smoked on my first short but came out pretty good after all. I bought a bunch of puts this morning on the gap up and cashed in.

My next short is SOHU–around 77 maybe a bit higher—watch it—think we will see 72.50 area
No stops used–just watch it

Did not short SOHU–yet–think it may go a bit higher on Monday—looking at the 79.40–80 area
as possible short entry

I will def be watching SOHU for the opportunity to buy a massive amounts of puts for a quick day trade.

Hey Brett–I shorted SOHU this morning at 77.48 and just covered a few min ago at 75.78
Still think it has more downside but I couldnt watch it so I covered it

Hey ARL, I have been watching X and have had 5 heart attacks as it approached 174 yesterday. But its down some today and hoping for more to come.

SHORT TODAY CNX at 91.82–Target 86 area–took half my normal position but will add if it moves higher
Still watchin X-remember my target at 162-63 area
Bought DUG at 29.46–target 34.50-35 area
V did get to my target but I had no patience BUT will hold CNX and DUG
X–may(not sure) run some stops–then think it will fake out and drop

Shorting RIMM at 140.48 now –lookin for 135ish area or bit lower
Still with CNX and DUG
Correction on CNX entry–90.82 target 86 area

Brett—Im back watchin SOHU again for a short(what else).Shorting right now is a bit risky in my opinion—see rimm,bidu etc but it will be better soon–I think..I may cover my RIMM short with a few bucks -nothing to write home about—-think i was early there–but if I do I will look to reshort it on a move up to yesterdays highs–Still holding my shorts on the above mentioned trades
